Advertising To The Latin Community

The plan for my research project is to write on advertising to the latin community. The purpose for me is to learn about advertising, and the latin community. I am researching the bennefits, the in's and out's for the economy and for the companies that advertise to hispanics.

Well I don't know what to say so I'll just act as if I were writing my paper. The largest minority group in the United states is of Latin decent. So if they make up more of the United States than any other minority group, why don't we market towrd their culture? There are a few companies that do and some are on their way. Taco Bell, for example, took a hispanic food, americanized it and tried to sell it to Americans. Now that the sale of their food has gone down they are trying to latinize their food and market it to Latins. During the Super Bowl, Taco Bell advertized "Carrnitas" which is a fried pork taco made in Latin America. General mills is is going to send out a magazine in spanish with all of their products. This is one of their first steps toward spanish advertising.

The number one question in this ganre is; do we advertise to Latin's using English or Spanish? there are Pros and cons for either. If a large company advertises only in english then they will miss the latins that recive their advertismentes by watching, listening or reading English media. But if they advertise only in Spanish then they will miss the large body of Hispanics that recive their advertisments through watching, listening or reading Spanish media. There was a study done that proved that Latin's, either fluent in English or Spanish they respond much higher to spanish advertisments then english because they relate to it more and fell more confidence with it.
